COL Joseph Pishock

Director, Global Networks & Services

COL Joe Pishock commissioned from West Virginia University in 1995 as an Infantry officer. He grew up outside the gates of Quantico, Virginia and his father was a Marine Corps Comms Officer.

He is currently the Director of SOCOM’s global networks and services; responsible for the delivery of SOF-unique communications in DoD’s 4th largest network.

His previous SOF assignments include Ranger Battalion S6 and Signal Detachment Commander, Company Command in the 112th Signal Battalion and Operations Officer in the Joint Communications Unit. His conventional assignments include the 25th Infantry Division G6 and most recently as the commander of the 1st Signal Brigade in South Korea. He is currently a skillbridge intern with Spathe Systems in Tampa FL.

His professional military education includes Joint schooling with the Marines and Air Force. He was a fellow in residence at Columbia University and holds a doctorate in education from St. John’s University, NYC.

He is married to Kristine, herself a former Army officer and paratrooper. They have 3 children, Sarah (12), Emily (9) and Christian (6).

COL William Uhrig

Offensive & Defensive Cyberspace Operations Chief

Col William K. “Cyber Bill” Uhrig is the J3-Cyber Division Chief. In this role, he is responsible for cyber and electronic warfare plans, policies and programs in support of Special Operations Forces. The primary mission of the Division is to work closely with the USSOCOM Theater Special Operations Commands, the Joint Special Operations Command and Service Component Commands to facilitate integration of these technical capabilities into plans, and to synchronize efforts with other Combatant Commands and United States Cyber Command.

Col Uhrig entered the Air Force in 1995 as a ROTC graduate from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY with a degree in Computer Systems Engineering. Since then, he has held various duties at squadron, agency, and major command levels. Prior to joining USSOCOM, he was the Chief of Staff, 15th Air Force, Shaw Air Force Base, SC. Fifteenth Air Force organizes, trains, and equips its headquarters to be a deployable, operational-level Joint Task Force, while overseeing thirteen wings and three direct reporting units across the U.S., ensuring the operational readiness of more than 400 aircraft and 49,000 active duty and civilian members

Colonel Uhrig has also served as the Director of Communications, Special Operations Command Africa. As the Director, he was responsible for the C4I infrastructure underpinning Special Operations on the African Continent. Col Uhrig has commanded 3 Squadrons, 27th Special Ops Comm Squadron, 407th Expeditionary Comm Squadron, and 31st Combat Comm Sq. Finally, Col Uhrig was also the Aviation Tactics Evaluation Group Director of Communication.

Col Uhrig is married to the former Kristen Burt of Monterey, CA. They have two children: Billy and Josh.

Jeffrey Lush

Chief Information Officer

Jeffrey Lush is known widely as a passionate technologist with more than 34 years of IT experience (17 years in the US Federal government and 17 years in the industry).

Jeff currently serves as the CIO for the US Air Force Air University. Lush’s US federal experience includes serving as the Executive Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the US Department of Veterans Affairs OI&T (350,000 employees / 25 million consumers) and the CTO for both Dell and HPE Federal groups. Jeff has served on several US Presidential workgroups focused on Cyber and Digital Transformation.

In his spare time, he enjoys sharing his knowledge through social media and his YouTube Channel (JeffreyLush) with thousands of subscribers and over one million views. Jeff considers his most significant accomplishment as being a father of 6 boys and counts his family life as his most cherished investment.

Brian Dennis

Principal Technologist

Brian S. Dennis is the Principal Technologist for the Public Sector at Akamai Technologies where he provides insight and strategic guidance on cybersecurity issues that the entire public sector is facing. Prior to joining Akamai, Brian worked with university systems building the nation’s first Cybersecurity Center for Business. While in the education world he had the opportunity to run programs for the US Department of Defense, the US Department of Labor and created an accessible cyber-defense range for students and businesses.

Brian has often been called a disaster magnet. On the ground during Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Gustav and Ike in southern Louisiana, Brian has been around his share of disasters. Add to that earthquakes, blizzards, forest fires and a passenger on a plane that caught on fire, Brian is well aware of what an interruption can do to an organization. Over the last decade he has set his sights on the looming disaster of cyber-crime in America’s public sector.

Michael Kennedy

Michael Kennedy retired in May 2017 from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI). He had an extensive career in the Federal Government, with leadership responsibilities leading to numerous national level roles at the Senior Executive Service level since April 2006. He served in many positions within the ODNI beginning in its first year of operation and culminating in his final assignment as the Deputy Program Manager for Technology and Standards for the Program Manager – Information Sharing Environment (PM-ISE), within the ODNI.

Mr. Kennedy has left an indelible mark of professional accomplishment and Leadership across a broad spectrum of complex issues, most notably in the development of innovative technology solutions and transformative outcomes for the Intelligence Community (IC) during 42 years of total government service in IT and other leadership roles:
